Legal entity
OpenTrove Ltd
Jurisdiction
England and Wales
How do I delete my account?

You can begin deletion from within OpenTrove or by emailing support@joinopentrove.com.

We may need to verify your identity first. This protects your account from being deleted by someone else.

What data is deleted?

Once deletion is complete, we permanently remove your account and personal information according to our deletion process. This may include:

  • your profile information
  • your email address
  • your verified mobile number
  • your profile picture
  • your personal account settings
  • your access to Troves and Stories
  • contributions you personally added, where OpenTrove’s sharing model and the rights of other contributors allow it
What remains in shared Stories?

Contributions shared in a Trove may remain if other Trove members still have rights to access or preserve them.

Limited records may also remain where required for legal, security, fraud prevention or operational reasons. Backups may take additional time to expire.

Where information remains, we limit it to what is necessary.

How long does deletion take?

Your account may enter a short protection period before it is permanently removed.

During that time, it is scheduled for deletion but has not yet been permanently removed.

Can deletion be reversed?

The protection period may give you time to stop an accidental deletion.

After deletion is complete, your account cannot be restored.

Can I leave a Trove instead?

You may be able to leave a Trove without deleting your entire account.

Leaving removes your access to that Trove but does not delete your OpenTrove account.
